Recipe: Homemade Handpicked Blackberry & Apple Crumble


This is a great recipe for summer, it feeds around 4 people, making it a great family pudding. Along with you crumble it tastes amazing custard or even ice cream . In the recipe it is suggested that you use handpicked blackberries if they are not in season or there is no bushes near you shop bought blackberries will also taste just as good. 
Ingredients

300g plain flour

225g caster sugar

200g Unsalted butter

3 cooking apples

3 handfuls of blackberries



Methord

1. Preheat the oven to 180C/350F/Gas 4

2. Put 175g of sugar and all of the flour into a large mixing bowl. Add the bueer and use you fingers to rub it in together keep rubbing until your mixture looks like breadcrumbs.


3. Peel and chop (into eighths) the the apples and place them in the sauce pan using the last 50g of sugar to coat them in. Fill the sauce pan about 1/4 full of water and heat up for 3 minutes. After 3 minutes add the blackberries and continue cooking for another 2 minutes.


4. Once the apples are finished cooking sieve the water out and put them in a 24cm ovenproof dish, sprinkle the crumble mixture on top 








5. Cook for around 45 minutes or until the crumble is turning brown and the fruit mixture begins to bubble.



6. Serve hot with custard and ice cream and enjoy
